Memorial Hermann Health System Neuroscience Capital Campaign

In 2012, Memorial Hermann Health System had a goal of pushing to complete their $100 million "Revolutionizing Neuroscience" campaign with a remarkable one-night event featuring former Congresswoman Gabby Giffords and the Houston Symphony at Houston's Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse.

Memorial Hermann Foundation CEO Ileana Trevino hired Begala-McGrath to craft their message and prepare the keynote speech for president and CEO Dan Wolterman.

Memorial Hermann Healthcare System is the largest not-for profit hospital system in Houston consists of 12 hospitals, seven cancer centers, three heart & vascular centers, TIRR Memorial and 27 sports medicine and rehabilitation centers. It was the first completed hospital in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center.

Begala-McGrath worked with the event management firm Ward & Ames and multiple Memorial Hermann executives to research the Mischer Neuroscience Center, conducted a message/communications audit, and spent considerable time consulting directly with CEO Wolterman to finalize the speech.

Bottom line, Begala-McGrath crafted a message and wrote the keynote speech for the high-dollar event which exceeded their fundraising goal.
